Natural Strawberry Banana Oat Dog Birthday Cake

Let’s celebrate your adorable pup and bake a homemade dog birthday cake!

I made this pup cake for Oakley, my Australian Shepherd, to celebrate her 1st birthday. She LOVED it!! See the pictures below as evidence!

Natural Strawberry Banana Oat Dog Birthday Cake

This natural pup cake is simple, quick, and can be made with most items found in your pantry or fridge.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oats (I like gluten-free)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 frozen banana (microwaved)
  • 40 g peanut butter powder
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (microwaved)
  • 1 egg

peanut butter goat milk yogurt frosting

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  • Line the glass baking dish with parchment paper.

Make The Oat Flour

  • In a blender, combine 1 cup oats and 1 tsp baking powder. Blend until it becomes a fine oat flour.

Make The cake

  • Add the rest of the ingredients: 1 frozen banana, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1 egg, and 4 tbsp peanut butter powder to the blender. Blend until it becomes a smooth batter.
  • Pour the batter into the lined baking pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the cake from the baking dish. Place on the cooling rack. Remove parchment paper from the cake.
  • Allow the cake to to cool on the wire rack for 20 minutes.

Make The Icing

  • Combine ½ cup goat milk yogurt, 40 g peanut butter powder, 6 tsp tapioca flour, and 1 tsp xanthan gum until mixture is thick.
  • Add the icing to a plastic bag and snip the bottom corner to pipe icing.

Build The Cake

  • Cut the cake in half and pipe the inside with icing.
  • Stack the second layer on top and pipe icing. The cake will be 2-tiered!
  • Decorate with a birthday candle and dog kibble!

Notes

The pup cake should last refrigerated for a few days. You can even freeze the leftovers for months for your dog to enjoy another time!
