9 Mile Solo Hike To The Hollywood Sign

I solo hiked 9 miles to the Hollywood Sign in LA, California. The most gnarly and awesome solo hike I’ve ever done, that was an adventure! At one point, I was rock climbing up a muddy hidden trail and got lost a few times, but I made it to the top of the sign.

How to get to The Griffith Observatory

I took the Metro from Downtown LA to the Griffith Observatory. I took the Metro E Line (Expo) to 7th St, and then transferred to the public shuttle bus Metro B Line (Red). This took around a little over an hour to get to the observatory.

Navigation Tip: Use Google Maps to track train/bus arrivals, departures, and stops status’. Google Maps was also super helpful during my hike to navigate the different trails.

The Griffith Observatory

The Griffith Observatory was beautiful! It was so cool walk around and to go inside and see the telescope. I loved being able to see the view of the observatory during the day and at sunset. It was not too crowded when I went in the morning.

9 Miles Later!

Solo hiking 9 miles to the Hollywood Sign was a wild adventure that I would do absolutely do again! I actually almost didn’t do the hike because I was nervous to go alone. I’ve never solo hiked before this. But, I am so glad I did it anyways. I am very grateful for the memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. I hope that you were able to immerse yourself in the experience through my photographs.

carpe diem,
