📍 Muchacho ✘ Southlake, TX

3rd times a charm! When I am in DFW, I must make a trip to Muchacho!!! It is the best tex mex I have ever had in my life. I get the same meal each time I visit! The steak, chips, flan…everything is exquisite.

my order: medium-rare CAB flap steak fajitas, fresh corn tortilla chips + salsa (free), topo chico sparkling water, flan (this time of the year they had pumpkin flan–not my fav lol).

Downtown Dallas

📍 dallas

This was my first time visiting Downtown Dallas!! The art around the city was super cool to see at night.

Terry Black’s bbq

📍 3025 Main St, Dallas, TX 75226

The best BBQ of my entire existence. Simply in awe. oh. my. gosh. I literally cleaned my plate lol. divine BBQ. The entire ambience of Dallas was super cool!! I loved the layout of this restaurant. The grill master even gave a tour and explanation of how long the meat takes to cook…literally almost a day!! Such a cool experience and insanely good meat.

my order: brisket, pork ribs, pork sausage, mac and cheese.

dallas giant eyeball

📍 1601 Main St, Dallas, TX 75201

This art sculpture was quite an “eye catcher” hahaha. It was neat to see whilst Downtown Dallas! Especially at night, the building architecture was so pretty!

gaylord texan resort

✘ Grapevine, tx

The Gaylord Texan Resort was neat! It was nice to walk around and see all the art before grabbing dinner, especially because it was decorated for Christmas time.

Old Hickory Steakhouse

📍 gaylord texan resort ✘ grapevine, tx

YUM! What a delish 3-course meal. It was light enough, but still tasty! This was my first time having alcohol in 1 whole year since solo-traveling to Maui!!! I don’t really drink much, as it messes up my hormones, sleep, and Dr. Huberman proposed a strong argument in his podcast episode to give up alcohol. But this cava was lovely!

my order: bubbles-Marques de Caceres Cava Brut from NV Venecia, Spain. salad- GF insalata di zucca (pumpkin, shaved apples, cheese, vinaigrette). main- seared scallops with truffled cauliflower puree and salami. dessert- cannoli and torta chocolate mousse.

Day 4: Friday, november 15th

6:30AM Sunrise

✘ southlake, tx

Started off my morning right: early and with sunlight! This sunrise was stunning!

i…almost missed my flight

📍 DFW

Okay, this was truly an airport experience for me lol. I planned to get to DFW like 2-hours prior to departure because I am an early bird and I always like to have a buffer in place, especially when flying. Well, I live and breathe by my google calendar, which ended up being on EST time zone still.

SO. I was actually 1-hour off of my flight time because Texas is CST time zone. I got an Uber and managed to get to DFW within 30 minutes of my flight starting to board. Praise Jesus I invested in TSA PreCheck back in 2023!!! Because I was able to make it within 10 minutes of my group boarding. Oh boy!!! But, I made it.

I simply had the best Uber ride I’ve ever had, I met a gentleman named Randall. I informed him of my predicament and he got me to DFW quickly and safely!! Forever grateful! We simply had the best conversation on entrepreneurship, grit, motivation, resiliency, and success. It was wonderful!!! I felt so energized after talking with him during the transit. I told him about my brand, gainsandglow. He loved the idea and told me I would run a company someday! Thanks Randall for the refreshing conversation to ‘keep on, keeping’.

airport cfa lunch

📍 DFW ✘ Chick-fil-a

I was so worried I was going to miss my flight!! Well, we boarded and then there appeared to be an issue with one of the wings. So our flight ended up getting delayed for a whole 4-hours! So I now have a tradition to get CFA whilst I am in the DFW airport hehe.

my order: (2) 8-count chicken nuggets, medium diet lemonade, and bbq sauce!!

flight home to raleigh

📍 DFW ✈️ RDU

We finally were able to get a new plane. Yay! During the flight, I finished a book that I have been reading for the last few months. The book is called “PCOS SOS” and it is a very heavy scientific piece of literature. I felt like I was reading a textbook on hormones, I loved it!!! I have been trying the past year to heal my pcos with an eastern medicine approach, and this book was just amazing!

I also tried my first ever diet coke–I don’t like soda–and this was disgusting lol. I took 2 sips and called it, haha. The sunset was beyond stunning!!!! I was so happy to get to RDU and drive back home to see my sweet puppy, miss Oakley, who I missed dearly!

Texas, is always a wild fun adventure. I’ve got to say my highlight was definitely Terry Black’s BBQ!!

carpe diem,
